LUI HON

L U I H O N was born in Malaysia, moved to Australia in 1999, where he
completed an Honours Degree in Fashion Design at RMIT,which led to the
birth of a collaborative label “VON”.
Seeking exposure for himself and his label, Lui applied successfully in
2008 as a contestant in the first season or Arena’s “PROJECT RUNWAY
AUSTRALIA” where he became an instant favourite among viewers. Armed
with a
steady following, Project Runway’s Henry Roth-believing in his
talent-travelled with Lui’s portfolio to New York, where he presented
it to
four top fashion head hunters, from which it was shown to both the
iconic
Helmut Lang in Europe and US Label,Theory.In January 2009, the self
titled
label “L U I H O N” is born, and has then allowed extended recognition
and an opportunity of growth within the Australian Fashion Industry.
